The MAA Educational Foundation was established to provide materials and encourage teachers to present students with information regarding the extraction and processing of nonmetallic mineral resources. Additionally, the Foundation provides scholarships, to children and dependents of employees of organizations that are members of the MAA, studying in a field related to the aggregate industry.

MAA Aggregate Education Initiative

The Aggregate Education Initiative provides educational materials and aggregate samples for elementary and middle school teachers to use in their classroom. We have determined, based on the State of Michigan curriculum guidelines that the appropriate grade-level for this information to be used is third grade. We are asking members to identify a school and teacher that they would like to give our educational materials to. We are also asking that the member be a resource for a classroom presentation or a site visit. In order to take part in this program, MAA members should download and complete the form below and return it to the MAA office as soon as possible. If you are a teacher and would like an aggregate kit, please contact the MAA at contactmaa@miagg.org or (517)381-1732.
