Eligibility
1.
Must be admitted to an accredited institution of higher learning (four
year university/college, community college or technical school). 2.
Applications only accepted from an immediate family member of an
MAA member or MAA member employee or family member. 3.
All candidates must complete an MAA Scholarship Application in writing.
Including a 200 word essay, "Why is it your interest to pursue
the professional field of mineral extraction." 4.
Candidate must be enrolled in a curriculum that is affiliated with
the extraction of mineral resources as judged by the Selection Committee. 5.
Application Deadline: April 30. Terms
1.
The scholarship award shall be $1,000.00 2.
Unsuccessful candidates may reapply. Previous award winners cannot
apply for additional funds. Selection
Committee
The
MAA Board of Directors will appoint a 3 person Selection Committee. At
least one Selection Committee member will be a member of the Public Relations
Committee. Award
Presentation
The
Award will be presented at MAA Fall Meeting. Filling
out the Scholarship Application Form
There
are two ways to fill out the application form.

Download and
either print (then mail/fax) or email the application. If you
download, you will be asked to open or save a Microsoft Word
document called scholarshipapp.doc. Choose "save the file" to
your computer. You may then edit it later to enter the information
and then print it out and mail it, fax it, or email it to MAA.
Use the <tab> key to move from field to field in the application
form. To answer the Yes/No questions use the <space bar> to
place an X in the correct box.
