• Business expansions or new locations that create at least 500 new full-time jobs and pay 100% or more of the average wage in the State of Michigan Prosperity Region would be eligible to capture up to 50% of the personal income tax withholdings of the new employees for up to five years; and

• Business expansions or new locations that create at least 250 new full-time jobs and pay 125% or more of the average wage in the State of Michigan Prosperity Region would be eligible to capture up to 100% of the personal income tax withholdings of the new employees for up to 10 years.

• Retail establishments, professional sports stadiums and casinos are not eligible.

Passing the “Good Jobs for Michigan” package would align Michigan with other stated in that it would provide an incentive for companies to invest in Michigan. The legislation prioritizes jobs by outlining a simple, transparent structure that holds businesses accountable to the state. Implementing the package would put Michigan in position to compete and win large projects with hundreds of good-paying jobs.

Why is there such a big push for this package???

Currently, there is an overseas LCD company that is looking to relocate to the U.S and Michigan is one of four states being considered. This company is planning to invest $4.2 billion and create 5,200 jobs.

How can you help????
