Recently reported by Aggregates Manager an on line digital magazine, MAA member Stoneco of Michigan’s Newport Quarry received zero citations during a recent three-day inspection by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) that looked at every part of the operation, including the plant, workshops, mobile equipment, scales, and outside lighting, The Monroe News reports.

“Receiving zero citations is an accomplishment both Newport employees and Stoneco of Michigan as a company are extremely proud of,” Stoneco says in a press release, according to the news agency. “Employees are encouraged to always be aware of their worksite and report any concern that could cause a safety risk. This recent inspection is a perfect example of how these programs are implemented and a testament to their success.”

Stoneco of Michigan, an Oldcastle Materials company, says it is committed to safety and provides a safe work environment for employees and visitors. It uses the “See. Stop. Do” and the 5-S program, along with Oldcastle’s Guiding Principles.
